Mark and Hollis McCarthy

Professional actors with national experience specializing in the classics, the McCarthys offer workshops to enrich college students' theatrical education with a taste of the working actor's perspective.

MARK AND HOLLIS McCARTHY share nationwide experience in classical theatre, film and television, MFA degrees in acting from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, BFA degrees in performance from the University of Toledo and are working members of AEA/AFTRA/SAG. From Portland Center Stage in Oregon to Denver Center Theatre Company, Missouri Repertory Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Colorado Shakespeare and Summer Shakespeare at Notre Dame, they've played major roles in As You Like It, Macbeth, The Rivals, Romeo and Juliet, Taming of the Shrew, Much Ado About Nothing, Love's Labour's Lost, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and The Imaginary Invalid and more. They have taught theatre workshops and/or classes at Notre Dame University, Wabash College, Shawnee State University, Avila College, University of Missouri-KC, and in the Chicago Public Schools for Victory Gardens Theatre. Mark has also choreographed stage combat for numerous professional productions and taught stage combat on the college level.
